The Idea

Everyone likes (1) breakfast, (2) some time off & (3) sleeping in a bit on weekends.

Well, maybe not everyone. But more than a few people I know.

I've been thinking though, in the tradition of Portland community brunches (a la Gracie's), it might be fun to add a new twist to breakfast.

A Breakfast-In-Bed Cooperative.

Most of the action would happen between 11am and 2pm on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The host gets to relax, staying in bed or reading or whatever they want to do on a weekend morning (except interfere in the kitchen). Everyone else wanders in at moments that feel natural, bringing food, cooking, eating and cleaning up afterwards. Everyone leaves with a full belly and a sense of community.

The following week it would be at a different house.

On a more permanent basis, if you want to host a brunch and relax, you'll need to help out at least two brunches during the previous month.

w00t!
